Coaching

Parent Coaching is a collaborative process that supports parents in addressing their child's behavioural and social-emotional challenges. Executive functioning coaching teaches youth time-management, organization and self-control, enabling them to be successful in school and life.

About the Service

Does your child have difficulties staying organized or studying effectively for tests?

Are you worried about your young child's behaviour and self-regulation?

Do you need help parenting your neurodiverse child or want strategies for getting through the difficult teen years?

Parenting can be stressful even at the best of times. It can be helpful for you and your family to receive support and guidance from a trained professional. Dr. Burhanpurkar understands the challenges parents and students face and can teach your child the skills they need for academic and social success. She can help your child develop skills in the following areas:

  • Executive functioning skills (e.g., beginning and completing tasks, staying organized)

  • Making friends

  • Assertiveness

  • Developing confidence and self-advocacy by helping them to understand their own strengths and needs

  • Understanding their own learning profile following a Psychological Assessment

  • Coaching parents on parenting a child with diverse learning or behavioural needs

Dr. Burhanpurkar is trained and certified in the use of the PEERS program, which has been proven effective in helping children develop their social skills. Children who have been diagnosed with ADHD, Autism, or Anxiety Disorder may benefit from this type of coaching.

Put your child on the path to success.
